Two Vehicles Approaching from Opposite Sides on the Highway

Safety Features & Driver Assist Technology

Experts and Fairview drivers are loving the increased safety the Mazda i-Activsense® system brings to their travels. Sounds great, but what does it do exactly? The suite utilizes high-tech features such as cameras, radar, and collision mitigation features to improve driver awareness and decrease impact and likelihood of an accident. Read on to see explore more fully these features and this system with Auffenberg Mazda, and then test drive a new Mazda to truly experience the difference in safety (and with it, comfort) the i-Activsense® driver assistance system brings.

Safety Features of i-ACTIVSENSE®

Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC): The MRCC system begins with high-powered sonar to detect the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you. Alongside this is the Distance Recognition Support System (DRSS), whose innovative technology tells drivers the exact distance for enhanced safety. By integrating this information for you, the system then maintains the desired distance you set by automatically accelerating or decelerating to maintain proper buffer space.

Smart City Brake Support (SCBS): When you’re enjoying the drive through Collinsville, it’s easy to get distracted, if even a little. The slightest distraction can affect brake reaction time. Thanks to Smart City Brake Support, your vehicle is able to automatically apply the brakes when at low speeds in order to avoid or mitigate the impact of a head-on collision.

Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS): The LDWS is able to read lane markers with an advanced camera system to identify when your vehicle is drifting out of its lane. It then promptly sends you a warning to stave off possible danger. Saving you time and your passengers’ ears, the LDWS warning does not engage if your vehicle’s turn signal is turned on when the lane departure occurs.

Adaptive Front-Lighting System (AFS): When trying to parse out those winding roads outside of St. Jacob, the intuitive Mazda AFS allows drivers to angle the headlights so they can illuminate around those tight turns. Make sure your vehicle is always road-ready with our service team’s expert tips

Acceleration Control for AT: The Acceleration Control for AT automatically sends a warning to the driver of one of Mazda’s automatic vehicles if the accelerator is pressed too hard while there is a clear obstruction in front of the vehicle.

High-Beam Control (HBC): For the darkest roads, drivers know to use their high beams, but it can be tricky making sure you don’t shine your safety lights directly into another driver’s view. This capable HBC system uses a camera array able to recognize an oncoming or preceding vehicle, while automatically switching between high and low beams.

Rear Vehicle Monitoring System (RVM): It’s never a great surprise to discover a hidden vehicle in your blind spots. While our professionals at our service center would love to meet you, we’d rather it was a routine check-up instead of a fender bender. The RVM system can help you avoid those unfortunate affairs by alerting you of other vehicles in the area. Thanks to its advanced radar system, the RVM can read the distance of a vehicle approaching from behind in the lanes beside your vehicle then alert you immediately of your surroundings.

Forward Obstruction Warning (FOW): With similar radar technology to that of the Rear Vehicle Monitoring System, the FOW can detect a vehicle or obstruction directly in front of the vehicle. This system will automatically send a visual and audible alert to warn the driver to brake immediately, if the distance between their vehicle and the vehicle in front of them decreases.
