2024 Mazda3 Body Style Options and Trims

The new 2024 Mazda3 comes in sedan and hatchback body types constructed on the same wheelbase. The Mazda3 Sedan boasts a classic three-box design with a short trunk and elegant lines that make it suitable to use as an executive car. Six trim levels include an exclusive 2.5 S trim that offers wallet-friendly transportation.

The Mazda3 Hatchback has a two-box design with a rounded rear that maximizes cargo space. The hatchback version also comes with an exclusive 2.5 S Premium trim that includes many standard luxe features, such as a windshield-projected active driver display and traffic sign recognition. Beyond these exclusive trims, both the Sedan and the Hatchback trim levels share similar features and capabilities.

Powertrain Options and Performance

The base versions of the Mazda3 Sedan and Hatchback use the same powertrain that pairs a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with a front-wheel drivetrain and a 6-speed electronically-controlled automatic transmission to deliver 191 horsepower and an estimated fuel economy of 31 mpg combined. In both body styles, the 2.5 S Carbon Edition trim pairs the 191-horsepower engine with Mazda’s iACTIV AWD drivetrain for better performance on challenging roads.

The 2.5 Carbon Turbo and 2.5 Carbon Turbo Premium trims pair the all-wheel drivetrain with an upgraded 250-horsepower 2.5-liter turbo engine for enhanced overall performance. An exception is the Mazda3 Hatchback 2.5 S Premium, which is designed for full shifting control and comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission paired with the 191-horsepower engine.

Cutting-Edge Technology

Mazda equips this model with a wealth of high-end technology features. The Sedan and Hatchback base trims come standard with a 7-inch instrumentation panel behind the steering wheel and an 8-inch full-color infotainment touchscreen display with built-in voice commands, standard HD Radio, and a complimentary 3-year trial to Mazda’s Connected Services that include automatic 911 dialing and roadside assistance.

Wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration is standard on all trim levels, and wireless integration of the same services also comes standard on the higher trims. The MyMazda app offers keyless vehicle access, remote engine start, and a convenient vehicle finder function that helps you find your Mazda in the parking lot. From the app, you can also check the vehicle’s health and status and the maintenance schedule.

Safety and Driver Assistance Features

The Mazda3’s technologies expand to advanced safety and driver assistance features, such as the Radar Cruise Control that enhances the driving experience on those long, boring rides across the Interstate. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert systems come standard on all trim levels and enhance safety for pedestrians and the vehicle’s occupants.

The higher trims come with even more highlights, including adaptive headlights, a 360-degree surround view monitor, traffic sign recognition, and cruising and traffic support.
