Six Features of the 2024 Mazda3

1. Powertrain

The 2024 Mazda3 has two powertrain options this year. For the 2.5 S, 2.5 S Select Sport, 2.5 S Preferred, and 2.5 S Carbon Edition, the powertrain is a SKYACTIV 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with cylinder deactivation that can produce 191 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque.

The second engine option can be found on the 2.5 Carbon Turbo and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus models. This is a SKYACTIV 2.5 dynamic pressure turbo engine, which has an output of 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque when using regular unleaded fuel. When the motor is filled with premium unleaded fuel, the power jumps to 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque.

2. Colors

Standard color options are Jet Black Mica, Deep Crystal Blue Mica, and Platinum Quartz Metallic. Premium colors are Soul Red Crystal Metallic, Machine Gray Metallic, Snowflake White Pearl Metallic, and Ceramic Metallic. Polymetal Gray Metallic is standard for the 2.5 S Carbon Edition and is an option for the 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus Model. Zircon Sand Metallic is available only for the 2.5 Carbon Turbo trim.

3. Fuel Economy

Mazda3 models with an FWD drivetrain get an EPA-estimated 27 MPG in the city, 37 MPG on the highway, and 31 MPG combined. The 2.5 S Carbon Edition gets an EPA-estimated 26 MPG in the city, 35 MPG on the interstate, and 30 MPG combined. Both of the upper trim levels, which have a standard AWD drivetrain, get an EPA-estimated 23 MPG in the city, 32 MPG on the highway, and 27 MPG combined.

4. Side Mirrors

All models come with some variation of power-folding side mirrors. For the base trim, the side mirrors are body-colored, while the 2.5 S Select Sport has black heated power-folding side mirrors with integrated turn signals. The 2.5 S Preferred trim has body-colored power side mirrors with turn signals and memory positioning, while the 2.5 S Carbon Edition and upper three trims have mirrors that are also heated.

5. Seating

All Mazda3 models can seat five passengers. Each trim has 60/40 split-folding rear seats. While the base trim has cloth-trimmed seats, other trims have leatherette or genuine leather seating material. Heated front seats are standard on every trim above the 2.5 S Select Sport trim level, along with adjustable headrests and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

6. Dimensions

The total passenger volume for this sedan is 92.8 cubic feet, with up to 13.2 cubic feet of cargo volume with the second-row seats in the upright position. The legroom is 42.3 inches for the front and 35.2 inches for the rear, except for the rear passenger’s side, which offers 34.4 inches of legroom.  A great sedan like the Mazda3 is turning heads in 2024 thanks to key features such as spacious seating and exterior details.
